I've never seen that place again,
it's as if it doesn't want to be found
but when I close my eyes at night
I still can hear the sound
of the crowd going slowly silent
as the man began to pray
and as their heads bowed down I heard the sound
as if from far away
I knew I didn't know it but it felt like deja-vu
old as mountains, virgin and brand new
The place was humming
and my blood boiled red as rust
the smell burned in my nostrils
and their eyes shone with disgust
I knew I didn't know it but it felt like deja-vu

I didn't really matter and I know I have no clue,
but it caught me unawares out of the blue
The next thing I remember,
I was thrown out of the door
the memory's blurred but it's weird and absurd
when you don't know quite what for
I'm never going back there again.
They had nothing I could use
and I've found the walk's much easier
when I'm wearing my own shoes
I didn't really matter and I know I have no clue,
but it never really felt like it was true
I know I didn't know it but it felt like deja-vu
old as mountains, virgin and brand new

Just saw them at RippleFest in Austin. Great live band! Really like this Demo album- sounds great on vinyl. Slightly different sound to the vocals, which I liked quite a bit. Music fantastic.
